Zimmy-

Thanks for opening my ears through the people that influenced you. Not only is my Dylan collection substantial, but because of you my Folk collection contains the likes of Blind Willie McTell, Robert Johnson, Leadbelly and the Clancy Brothers with Tommy Makem. Keep doing what you are doing, it is a pleasure to be a part of.

Dear Bod Dylan, contact Elton John, about my idee, best regards, Paul Quekel

Dear Elton John, go to Johannesburg with a new song for all the children in the world. We are all children and we need all together a New World. I ask you kindly to write a song and sing this song with colleague singers as many as possible. Make a John Lennon revival.

The world is running into an individual madness. Visite the website www.sdnl.nl and New Rain Forest, My idee for a better world. It is in Dutch

Best regards,

Paul Quekel

Grotestraat 413 5142 CB Waalwijk The Netherlands

0031 416 563055.

This is my idee for a new song, perhaps you can use it:

We are the children, the children from children We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Never forget our creation based on peace and love

Lofty between people and people

Between people and animals

Between animals and animals

Connected by the love of the world, all together

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Remember the air, the plants and water

Born in the World of our existence

Forget the war, forget the sorrow

Stop the egoism inside yourself

Find the new way of love all together

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Stop the illness and starving for all the children

Give them hope and future for a better live

Be the true leader for all the people

Give new happiness for all the living creatures

Give them breath of live, with a new life spring all together

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Rebuilt a new way of live for the world

Because we have the love, all the love for life

Our life for all the children for a better world

The destination of the world is our responsibility

Give love and peace to the children, all together

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

Make our lives valuable for health and beauty

Change for the better world is still a great possibility

Give our world a new virginity off love and peace

Demanded to the world Leaders by the children

Let born the new love in our peaceful world, all together.

We are the children, the children from children

We are born in love from all the children

We are the New World for peace and love, together

World Summit on Sustainable Development

Greenpeace to Bush: Go to Johannesburg

Earth Summit

Just months before he lost his re-election bid to Bill Clinton, George Bush Sr. reluctantly attended the first Earth Summit, the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This historical meeting was attended by 172 nations and 108 government leaders.

The landmark agreements that resulted from the meeting include:

Agenda 21 the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development, the Statement of Forest Principles, and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity.

Ten years later, President George W. Bush is faced with the moral challenge of the 2002 UN World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD) this August in Johannesburg, South Africa. This conference will focus on setting the course for the 21st century to solve the plight of the world's poor. Some 60,000 people are expected to attend the meetings and parallel conferences. In order to truly address the world's global environmental and development problems, it is imperative for George W. Bush to attend this meeting, and show the international community that the U.S. is ready to participated in cleaning up the planet.

About 1/3 of the world's human population lives without access to modern energy sources, like electricity. As access to energy grows, force governments to ensure that energy developers choose clean energy development and stop forcing dirty power on the people and our environment!

The Johannesburg Earth Summit presents a chance for the Bush Administration to use the power of the United States to achieve real progress, tackle poverty and gain real security for the planet. But it will not be progress if all it achieves is opening doors for U.S. corporate enterprise around the world. Progress and lasting security will only be achieved by helping developing countries leapfrog our dirty polluting path of development and start fresh with renewable energy, clean transportation, sustainable forest conservation policies and clean production technologies in manufacturing and agriculture.

In the end, the relationship between the Bush Administration and corporate America may be too strong to allow room for progressive development policy. If that is the case, the U.S. must not be allowed to obstruct governments of the world as they lay out a vision of a secure future with clean development. Bush must go to Johannesburg and join world leaders in concrete commitments to tackle poverty. It will be a national disgrace not to attend this historic meeting. The United States, the most powerful and consumptive economy on the planet must lead the world to solutions.

Ten Years After Rio The embarrassing fact is that ten years after the Rio Earth Summit, we have done little to solve the unfolding environmental catastrophe that stands to undo both the planet's natural systems and human societies around the world, especially in the less advantaged, so-called developing world.

The problems identified in Rio, and the solutions to those problems are ever more pressing. Global warming (climate change) and the need for a clean energy revolution were central to the agreements of Rio. Unfortunately, efforts to solve global warming and the restructuring of the world's energy economy are slow. The necessary and urgent move away from damaging, polluting fossil fuels and toward renewable clean energy technology like wind and solar power is blocked by the massive corporate base of big oil, big coal and power corporations. Corporations like ExxonMobil and others have worked for the last ten years to block governmental solutions to global warming. Meanwhile large multinational corporations, international financial institutions and ill-placed foreign aid continue to spread dirty power development in poor countries and start these nations down the wrong road.

Mapping out the Road from Rio to Johannesburg

World leaders still can use the chance to make the Earth Summit in Johannesburg a milestone to start the clean energy era, making the right choice for the world. Background documents detailing the proceedings of the preliminary rounds of the 2002 Earth Summit show that many governments have acknowledged the importance environmental threats, including global warming and have taken seriously the challenge of energy development in the developing world. However, they have yet to make environmental solutions central to the August meeting.

The Greenpeace ship the MV Esparanza will be in South Africa during the summit helping to focus world attention on the important decisions being made there. The ship's work is just part of Greenpeace's Countdown to Johannesburg, which will involve activities across the globe. Greenpeace is campaigning for governments to take the lead in global sustainability, and stop abdicating their responsibilities to corporations for protection of the planet.

A Call to Action!

Greenpeace is calling on governments around the world to commit to:

Ensuring access to sustainable, renewable sources of energy to the two billion of the world's poorest people who do not now have access to modern energy services; and Rapidly accelerating the development and use of renewable energy technologies in the developed world. Renewable energy can meet our energy needs, while also improving national and global security, enabling countries to develop in a sustainable manner, and reducing the threat of global warming.

Facts about renewable energy

The United States could satisfy all of its energy needs with solar plants on land 100 miles square in Nevada: Wind energy is the fastest growing energy source in the world and is now cost-competitive with conventional energy in good wind sites. Denmark now generates 18 percent of its electricity with the wind; The United States has more solar, wind, biomass and geothermal energy potential than most other countries in the world. Follow Greenpeace's worldwide sustainable energy development campaign by visiting our "Stop the War on the Planet" website.

If you don't believe the US can viably invest in sustainable energy, you're wrong! Find out more about how California is choosing positive energy by visiting Greenpeace's Clean Energy Now! campaign's website!

The Flying Weeds of Albuquerque.

Today it's been the first week of spring. My yards are coming up green that's the thing. It's time to work a little on the yards. It is to spring now that I give regards.

This week I've done a bunch of things. The season is for growing, by it's own means. I worked a little on my front and back. The time to grow, it's in the Almanac.

Two days ago, I cut mowed and trimmed my front lawn. I added some Ironite to it, and then came the dawn. It went from a winter lawn to a summer lawn in TWO DAYS. The best front lawn on the block, you'd be amazed.

But Lord now, what do I do with the weeds? They fly around here, and so do the seeds. Around here, in Albuquerque, weeds FLY. In Albuquerque they fly, with time passing by.

How, do you ask, do you pull weeds? You don't need to spray, it's a casual one of deeds. I've got a fork tool for pulling then up so. Push it in by the roots, pull sideways and pull it out, you know?

My cat comes outside to watch the weeds fly. In Albuquerque, the weeds fly real high. Do they fly as high as the jets or the sky above? They're flying around here in the spring, my love.

You only have to take care of dandelions for a couple of months, I know. They propagate for a short time, and then they go. Do you know why working on your lawn is so fun? It's relaxing and good and it looks great when you're done.

I've got a front yard and a back yard, and there we play croquet. A game of croquet on this one loveliest day. It's fun to play yard games in the sun. But first around here the weeds FLY everyone.

I've got a back lawn of Bermuda and a front lawn of Fescue. The weeds fly on both of them, I say to all of you. The flying weeds of Albuquerque, what is this? Do they have wings like birds? The catch I miss.

The yellow forsythia flowers and yellow dandelions, they are all going. Apricot blossoms and roses, at my place they are growing. But I've got to take care of these weeds. Taking care of your lawn, one of many simple needs.

Now I'm telling you around here why weeds fly. I'm throwing them over my SHOULDERS, by and by. These weeds don't have to have wings. I'm throwing them over my SHOULDERS, it's one of those happy things.

The weeds flying over my shoulders, happily I construe. The grass stalks growing in the sun, all straight and true. It sure is good to be alive I know. The blue sky is above and the grass is below.

DEAR, BOB, My name is Jim Glazier, from 4308 42 AVE. #20 Rock MTN.. House Alberta, Canada . And I need the help of someone with great influence over people and the resources to convince people they can protect there property. I am not trying to get a hand out, but perhaps some kind of business venture where we both can make money. I have been interested in vehicle security since 1997. I get sick when I hear of peoples property stolen , damaged , and even lives lost from such a preventable problem as car theft. I have looked at many vehicle security devices and there weakness, and endeavored to build a device that is easy to install and also user friendly, and very difficult to remove. I have built prototypes, and have used one on my vehicle for three years even in big cities, and always felt comfortable that my car would always be there where I parked it. I also installed one on an old truck in an auto wreaker and it took three big men 4min. 56 seconds to remove it, only by braking the floorboard because of too ridged a base. This has since been redesigned to be flexible. It was encouraging to see one person could not remove it. It is loose enough installed, that it cannot be cut with a hacksaw, since it is made with good strong steel. The lock cannot be frozen because it is incased with steel and a small air space. These men ! tried with hammers and feet to remove it and only exhausted themselves. Since joy rides and theft of vehicles for the purpose of committing a crime are the main reasons for general auto theft, I know this will be a very good and secure type of vehicle theft deterrent. I have a U.S. patent and applied for an international patent with the help of a company in Ireland, who have done up for me a confidential research report, on North America, and Europe and are at this time trying to find manufactures all around the world that would be interested in building this device that I call "Brake Lock. There is some simple electronics that serve as a trade mark, as well as takes care of the brake light problem. I recently have had interest from England and Illinois and hope to get a positive response from them. Auto theft is a huge problem everywhere. I know it will make a difference. But it will only make a difference if people will use it. If I could give you more information that might convince you, perhaps you may be interested in being a part of this venture. .P lease, if you want more information or have questions please get in touch with me at my E-Mail address ( cadillacjim @msn.com) Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you . I knew you from a friend long ago...

My friend has died, but it was good to know...

The timeless advice from a sage...

Some poetry, for George, and from my web page.

--------------------------------------------------

Some poetry, for the times, to make connections, and for friendly correspondence, from Kevin Scott Denney in Albuquerque New Mexico.

A Tribute to George Harrison

With Deep Gratitude and Thanks.

From Kevin S. Denney ksdenney@wans.net

--------------------------- Jesus is Inside of You. ------------------------------------------

I want to tell the world of a great love, the greatest on the wings of a dove, this love I hold in my heart and my hand. It's the love of George Harrison my friend, he's gone to the trees at means - end, I tell of this love all over the land!

George Harrison had love for all, he died in the peace of the fall, he was a kind and astute gentleman. I knew him for twenty five years, my eyes become sand - washed tears, his heart was as kind as no - man.

---------------------------- Meeting George. ------------------------------------------

I met George Harrison at LAX in nineteen seventy eight, he smiled at me trying to relate, he was looking for somebody and I told him where! He was looking for Jesus Christ - - - true. I told him Jesus is INSIDE of you! I answered, answered his prayer.

He told me how to smile, your cheek and your lip all the while, explicate these dynamic two. It found me employment, my smile is full of enjoyment, your cheek and lip ( explicate ), you know who?

George was skinny, more than six feet tall, long black hair in front of it all, he had the kindest and most sincere thoughts. His karma was good, he stood as tall as he should, George had a big fat ten inch long "--."

When you meet George Harrison you feel like screaming, I hug him with all my weaning, but pretty soon you found the person inside. Loving and kind and gay. A joy to know every day. He loved everybody, like a river beside.

And as I cry right now, the tears going down my brow, I know that I don't have to cry very much. He had love everywhere, love transcended only the most fair, George's blessings were great to the touch.

--------------------------- The Times. ----------------------------------------------------------

Before, in another life, I loved George through times of strife, all was confusion and dis - order. But then I was reborne, my heart was not as torn, order out of caos, on the border.

And then George prayed for me. I was so blind I could not see. I was saved in one of the worst of stormings. It's never been the same. I hold much pride in his name. It's like being saved on every dawn and all mornings.

And then the darkness was near, the Devil's radio I did hear, the only thing left was that I loved this man! He saved my life three times so, I know life right now because of him you know, I love him ALL, all that I am!

And now for five years I've had a new home, the sunshine is what I have come to have known, I love sunshine and it's all over my face! All because of George's prayer. I've got to be good and take care. The sunshine shining all over in this place!

"Sunshine -- -- -- -- yea." "Sunshine -- -- -- -- yea." ] "Sunshine -- -- -- -- yea." "Sunshine -- -- -- -- yea."

"Look at all this sunshine! Trippin' through my mind! All these colors I know! Changing everything in my soul! Changing the whole universe above! Changing me into love!

--------------------------------- My wishes for George. -------------------------------------------------------------

George Harrison is the reason why I'm free. Why I'm happy and alive, let it be! Why I pray and why I meditate and why I'm fed. Why I prostrate myself before my master. Why his love is ever after. It was a great love, a great love to be led.

And as the years go rolling by, George, all love is true. My love will follow, follow you. You're at and have seen means - end. I believe absolutely in your love, all your love and all love is of, it has been utter good to have known you my friend!

Have you ever been to the Yukon Wilderness so tall? Everything shines like gold, alive, in the fall. With a river and trout and means - end. With rocks and trees and streams. With cougars and deer and sunshine - means, this is where George is, it's where he IS! My friend.

And in this wilderness there are eagles and jay birds and hawks! Let the Dharma Kings keep the watch! Keep George in your wilderness long and well! Keep him in your touch. I love him very much! Make him happy, the story I tell!

And now I look deeply inside. As deep as the earth or the stars or the tide. I know that George I still love you. Bless you George you stood up tall! You saw through it all! Bless you George in all your walks, peace, true.

------------------------------------------------------------ Jesus is Inside of You. ---------------------------------------------------------------------

The Statement of Mahayana Zen I.

Last summer I went out into my backyard grand, a cup of coffee in my hand, to sit beneath the trees, just waiting for a summer breeze.

This particular day, it was special.

Last August I am proud, ten years of meditation on my brow, I pause and wonder now. How have I changed, a million miles to be gained, how much further do I go and how?

As I sip coffee in my hand, my thoughts rumble like some band, suddenly I hear this "clicking" sound. Then more "clicks" and more. What's this clicking at my door? I look up and exclaim with a bound!

There's birds in this tree, -- Oh! -- look at what I see, these birds are only an inch or so long. They're all chirping and chirping with glee, happier than anything I see, they're saying "Hi" to me "Kevin" with a song.

Look! A litter of twelve sparrows, all babies chirping as time narrows, this is the crown of creation, like me. Like "the land of the free," or "I've become one with me," or the President of this entire nation, like he.

"Hi, hi" birds in my hand, you're the highlight of my summer grand, I've never seen anything more pure than you. All just an inch or so long, with wings to fly them all strong, they're cute happy proud and beaming too. Suddenly I expound, there's a leader of this bountiful bound, those birds wanted to show themselves to me. Now I know what I've become, meditation is second to none, I will become like she and she and he!

There's twelve of them strong, all brothers and sisters of this summer long, they're chirping and chirping up quite a brew. "Hi Kevin" they all say, be happy and free this summer day, that's what God intended and needs of you.

( Joke ) --

One of these darling sparrow baby birds tries to hold onto a small twig, but falls backward and below, and lays, upside down, dangling! He then gets up again. --

And now the point of this poem, all of this love is a home, the home of enlightenment one and all. Everything has a house, the dream inside to come and expouse, meditation IS enlightenment, the great vehicle to all.

--------------------------------------------------

Bodhidharma's Sword.

In the days before old. The story began to be told. A man meditated straight for forty years. He was enlightened by the morning star suddenly. In the year 625 BC. He felt so much joy it brought him to tears.

Then there's the four Patriarchs strong. They followed Buddha all along. They too were enlightened the immortal way. The third cut off his arm. The fourth Patriarch his leg off ( no harm ). They founded a world's religion on this day.

Six hundred years passed. There were councils and questions were asked. Bodhidharma invented Zen in 5 AD. There was still meditation here. But experiencing your breath was new and clear. I fell in love with the process and it is now me.

But just what is Bodhidharma's sword? It is your problems cast off by the Lord. I will write about this now today. There's a lesson to be learned. The gold in your heart to be earned. Just the act of meditating and the sword casts away!

The first time I did Zen. Twenty minutes of my mind to bend. My soul was instantly and immortally changed. I became smoother and slowed down. Being blessed by Bodhidharma's crown. I started coming out of my cage -- rearranged.

But I'm going to say this now. Your problems can overtake your brow. Hold on to them and you're in jail they say. Your problems aren't REAL. Come out of this wax and seal. When you meditate your problems go away.

How do your problems turn to null? Feeling peace and the river -- flow. Meditation makes you a whole lot less tense. Meditate awhile. And go that extra mile. And when you're done your problems don't make sense!

If it's a real problem stand up tall. Nip it in the bud I tell you all. You may need to compromise and be good. The way will become clearer. The solution to become nearer. When you are done it will be all that you could.

This one time I was full of anger. I couldn't see a solution to the matter. So I meditated with the front part of my brain. The anger dropped eighty five percent. Bodhidharma's sword was heavenly sent. I solved my problems and there was much to be gained.

And then there's the sense of inner peace. It makes you feel this and they won't cease. Your problems are solved this way too. To be happy and peaceful and glad. To all that you are and had. You feel peaceful all the way inside of you!

There's one thing the masters reveal. Your problems just aren't real. Don't hang onto them or deal with them or hate. There's a super - ordinate reality here. To all that I hold dear! Sit down and experience your breath -- meditate.

( Please -- I knock on your door. My hand a chocolate bar, could there be more? Would you please be, please be my friend? Let's put the problem aside. The problem is over, we can't hide. Would you please, please be my friend? )

And --------------------------------------------------

--------------------------------------------------

The Wall. To all of this vast utterness! And to all of the things that wonder is! There is a wall here of joy and hope. I cannot quit explicating, it's the wall that I sit meditating, I have become wiser and widened my scope.

The wall that I sit meditating, nothing could be more true, the joy and peace and inverness inside of you. This is a wall that I never see. And yet it's my very dear friend, fifteen years of letting time bend, it has become now, the wall is totally me.

A candle and incense I light. It's inside and extremely bright. And then I sit down and the pages slowly unturn. The breaths clear you all the way out. Without any bit of a doubt. A candle and incense I make to burn.

The technique of Zen has been known before time old. You can go to all these temples full of gold. But in the end you sit facing the wall. Go in the bedroom facing west. And sit down and meditate and do your best. Go into the bedroom, go down the hall.

But I myself do Zen outside. A short breath of time to bide. There's a lot more realization doing this. The cars -trees - sunshine - grass so clear. All breathe as you do both far and near. Doing this outside fills you with total joyful bliss!

The wall and the candle and the incense and me. The shadow on the wall of the candle's flame flickering to and fro -- gently. I only apply myself to the task at hand. And then to breathe as I sit. The two lights become one, I admit. Experience your breath, the candle burns and the wax smells expand.

You see in my lifetime there has been wrong. It can overtake you when you are not strong. I believe now absolutely in love the same. To make love, to give love and to be love. To be more true than true is of. I believe in love absolutely, in the light of the flame.

And then as a kid. To whom? My first thought a candle in the corner of a room. Someday all this comes to an end. The candle of a child and a mind. The beat of a heart that is kind. I remember my first thought, a candle in the wind.

When you meditate there is a great deal of truth, both fast things and slow things and your eternal youth. THE FIRST WALL FOR ME HAS TURNED INTO SAND! The wall has turned into sands! The wind blew it over my hands! This is why I meditate, to be free. It took for me at least three years. First slow and then determined and then joyful tears. The wall aged and died before my very eyes. What would have taken a lifetime. It dissolved away by a clock's chime. It's the way everything finally dies.

The old wall has become all that is true. The wall turned to sand and the eternal sky - blue. I can now believe and see the sun! The benefits of meditation are so vast! That's the question and that's what I asked. The wall has turned to sand, I am becoming the one. And now on the wings of the sun. I've stopped taking on the run. I have become one with myself and me. At least I think this so. It washed away from me revealing my soul. I've stopped running, I can finally see.

In the end all walls don't exist. My wall turned to sand by the candle's emptiness. The list goes on and on and on. The birth of a baby on a brand new day. Meditating in front of the wall is to know the way. The birth of a baby on a brand new dawn.

Everything, all forms, come from nothing, planets, stars, thoughts, breathing, something. It is to nothing that all things go. The wall has turned to sands! The wind blew it from my hands! It is to hope and to hold and to experience and to know.

Kevin S. Denney Albuquerque New Mexico.

Bob, I take my hat off to you. Oh, dear, I appear not to have a hat. Hmm, I'll use my nightcap instead then. By golly, you certainly put those spacks in their spacks. When I say spacks, I mean all those critics and reporters. They insult artists with their pettiness and jealousy. It is not on. I just want you to know I understand what its like to be at the receiving end of these nosey spacks. I am a poet myself, and have been subjected to their tediousness. So I'm on your side.

If I was in your shoes at the sanfransisco interview in 1965 or 66, I would have "responded" to their "questions" by pretending to snore. ( though in my case, I wouldn't have to pretend. ha ha.) Bye the way - from one poet to another - I think you are very elegant.

P.S : Basements are really cool, ain't they!! tra la laaa.

from someone who does not wish to disclose their identity - because they don't feel the urge to do so.

Lots of love, health and incense to you, bob. bye bye.

I write to honor Bob Dylan as one of the greatest voices in the musical realm of political advocacy. His lyrics are simple enough to understand, yet deep enough to make a person think about what needs to be done to stop the injustices forced upon us every day. I respect Mr. Dylan as much as Dr. King himself, and I would like to thank him for not caring what people thought of him. When I hear a Bob Dylan song, my heart lights up and a smile wakes up my face.
